The Knights of Columbus Council 11695 will host a “Build Our Church” golf tournament on Saturday, Aug. 31, at Vaaler Creek Golf Club in Blanco, Texas. Team entries are $520, and individual entries are $130. Registration for the tournament closes Aug. 23.
The four-player team scramble format will have an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start, with cash prizes awarded to the top three teams.
Non-golfers can support the event by participating in a putting contest for a chance to win $5,000. The event will also feature door prizes, live and silent auctions, and a catered lunch.
The fundraiser supports the building capital campaign for St. Martin de Porres Catholic Parish, which is constructing a 1,000seat sanctuary building on its campus at 230 Post Oak Drive in Dripping Springs. The new sanctuary and improvements to the grounds are estimated to cost $18 million and aim to meet the growing needs of the Catholic community in North Hays County.
The current sanctuary will be used for daily Mass and wedding ceremonies.
