Camp David Retreat hosts retreat day for metastatic breast cancer survivors

Camp David Retreat and the Breast Cancer Resource Center (BCRC) will host the 2024 Metastatic Breast Cancer Retreat on Saturday, Aug. 24, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Camp David Retreat, 4451 Mc-Gregor Lane, Dripping Springs.

The retreat offers individuals living with metastatic breast cancer a day of nurturing, connection, and nature in the tranquil setting of Camp David Retreat.

“At Camp David Retreat, we believe in the power of community and the importance of supporting organizations that make a difference,” said David Jones, owner of Camp David Retreat. “We are thrilled to host this event and contribute to the incredible work the Breast Cancer Resource Center is doing for those living with metastatic breast cancer.”

Now in its fourth year, the retreat is free for BCRC clients living with metastatic disease, thanks to the Lori Lacy Legacy of Love Fund and inkind donations from local businesses and practitioners, including Camp David Retreat. Attendees can relax, connect with peers, and participate in restorative activities such as acupressure, massages, sound baths, and more.

Participants will enjoy the scenic beauty of Dripping Springs, a meal, and creative activities. Previous attendees have described the retreat as “uplifting” and “a day filled with solidarity and support.”

In addition to hosting the event, Camp David Retreat encourages community members to support BCRC by donating through a special fundraising link at givegab. com/p2p/bcrc-fundraiser/ camp-david.
