DISD now accepting applications for community advisory committees

The Dripping Springs Independent School District (DSISD) is now accepting applications from citizens to serve on its community advisory committees for the 2024-25 school year. Applications will be accepted through August 30.

The success of Dripping Springs ISD is dependent on its partnership and effective engagement between district administration and the community’s stakeholders including parents, taxpayers, businesses and others. The advisory committees want stakeholders to provide valuable insight, expertise, and feedback for the district The district believes that the community advisory committees strengthen the ties between the district, its campuses, and the community and enhance the core educational process. Committees provide input to the district on a variety of subjects, including district and campus planning, academic programming, student health initiatives, and long-range facilities and bond planning, among others.

Stakeholders may apply for as many committees as they like, however, participants are limited to serving on one community advisory committee per year. A list of committees and their application forms for the 2024-25 school year are as follows: DSISD community advisory committees:

• Citizens’ Bond Steering Committee

• Budget Collaboration Committee

• District Advisory Committee

• Gifted & Talented Advisory Committee

• Name Recommendation Committee

• School Health Advisory Council

• Special Education Parent Leadership Committee

• Campus Advisory Committees Applications will be reviewed and stakeholders will be notified no later than October 1 if they have been selected for a committee.

• Relevant areas of expertise and credentials;

• Equitable campus and demographic representation; • Prior or current membership on district- level or campuslevel committees;

• Prior or current membership on community committees;

• Individual interest and rationale for applying to serve on the specified committee.
