As expected, when the soccer season drew to a close both the girls and boys teams would be sitting atop the standings in District 26-5A. The Lady Tigers had little trouble securing a 21-0 season and 16-0 in district. They are now prepared to defend their State 5A crown. Their first playoff game will be versus Rouse. The Tigers are not far behind with a season record of 20-3, 15-1 record. They will open with Glenn.
Just when things looked at their best the Tigers found themselves having to endure a wakeup call. Alamo Heights, always a good soccer school, upset the Tigers 2-1 when they eked out a goal in the second half to put the first district loss on DS in three years. It came at a good time and jolted the Tigers back to reality when the playoffs would be a one and done situation. Immediately the Tigers got back to work and defeated Veterans Memorial 9-0, Lehman 2-0, Seguin 5-0 and Kerrville 5-0.
Meanwhile the Lady Tigers kept their distance from their opponents. Alamo Heights bit the dust 3-0, Veterans Memorial 9-1, Lehman 3-0, Seguin 10-0 and Kerrville 4-1. They will open with Rouse.
