Too little too late for Tigers

Too little too late for Tigers

The Dripping Springs High School Tigers finished their basketball season with a flourish by winning their final three games, but unfortunate losses to Bowie and Akins in the middle cost them a playoff berth. The Tigers were 18-15 on the season and 8-8 in district.

Del Valle proved to be a real thorn as they jumped out to a 23-9 lead after one and held onto a 34-30 at the half and 50-45 after three. A 26-11 final quarter gave the Tigers a 71-61 win.

Another close one with Anderson. Again strong final quarter put the Tigers over the top 52-42. This brought the Tigers to their final game of the year. It was a home game with Austin High and six seniors were honored. Their previous game with Austin was won in OT. This time the Tigers did not leave it in doubt. They led 32-14 at half with a final of 60-44. Maddox Bloomgren, one of those seniors, had a climaxing moment when he unloaded a shot just after crossing half court and final seconds were ticking off. Nothing but net. Vs. DV: Judson Loe 25, Jaxon Reagan 17, Rushton Budge 14, Zach Fleming 9, Brandon Spencer 2, Cooper Reid 2.

Vs. Anderson: Fleming 20, Loe 13, Austin Moore 6, Budge 6, Reagan 5, Reid 2.

Vs. Austin: Loe 18, Fleming 10, Moore 8, Reagan 8, Bloomgren 6, Aiden Sypniewski 3, Reid 3, Benjamin Beatty 2, Budge 2.
