Dripping Springs’ Cub Scout Pack 4 hosted its Pinewood Derby event over the weekend at Sycamore Springs Elementary School.
Pack 4 is chartered by Dripping Springs’ American Legion Post and has grown to 83 scouts. It is part of the elementary-aged Cub Scouts program, part of the national Boy Scouts of America organization.
“The winners of this Pack 4 event will progress to the regional derby which will be held on Feb. 10,” Jonathan Cobb said. “They will compete against Cub Scour Packs 101, 280 and 283. The idea is that a regional competition will provide or more interaction setween the packs and foster a sense of community.’’
Because of the growth of Pack 4, Cobb said plans were being made to charter a new Cub Pack at Cypress Springs Elementary.
