DSHS junior named to all-state choir

Dripping Springs High School junior Megan Aldridge (Alto 2) was selected to the Texas Music Educators Association All-State Treble Choir after placing third at the Area E auditions on Saturday in San Antonio.

Dripping Springs High School junior Megan Aldridge (Alto 2) was selected to the Texas Music Educators Association All-State Treble Choir after placing third at the Area E auditions on Saturday in San Antonio.

Aldridge will perform with the all-state choir on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 2:00 p.m. at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio. The concert is free and open to the public.

In addition, seniors Anika Chalak (Soprano 2) and Colin Tuohy (Tenor 1) were named first alternates to the All-State Treble and All-State Tenor-Bass Choirs, respectively.

In November, a school-record 12 members of the DSHS choir qualified for the Area E auditions. Other competitors were Ava Azua (Soprano 1), Julian Barradas (Tenor 1), Isabella Eleazar (Alto 1), Amelie Lawrence (Soprano 1), Preston LeBas (Tenor 1), Camryn Molfino (Soprano 2), Kaylee Ritchey (Alto 2), Cody Ritchey (Tenor 2) and Luke Voss (Tenor 2).
