Tennyson Moreno has announced his campaign for State Representative House District 45.
Moreno previously sought a local County Commissioner seat. He said he chose to switch races when “it was clear that [the] race would have several qualified candidates.”
“I am running for the Texas House of Representatives to protect families, neighborhoods, and our conservative principles in Hays County,” he explained. “High cost of living and high crime rates are major issues, and we need a representative who will address them. We need smart, safe and sustainable solutions to our problems.”
Being from a lowmiddle class household and raised by a single mother, Moreno said he learned conservative principles like faith, the value of a dollar and the importance of getting involved to give a voice to the unheard. He said he has always enjoyed being a volunteer within his church and community.
A sixth generation Texan, Moreno is a graduate of the Tarrant County College’s Professional Pilot & Flight Science Program. He is currently a licensed pilot while also working and serving in local political campaigns.
Moreno attends Texas State University and is involved with a number of clubs and organizations on campus. He is also vice chair of the Airport Advisory Board for San Marcos Regional Airport, an active volunteer at the Commemorative Air Force and Chairman of the Hays County Young Republicans.
