The top three teams in district are staying ahead of the pack but the Tigers are on top of the remaining teams to hold down the fourth spot. After losing to Hays Johnson and Westlake the Tigers continue to take care of business with the others. Lake Travis remains ahead but the others are equals.
In the Akins game, the Tigers were able to jump out to a quick 21-12 after one that greatly aided their hanging in for a 6248 win. Both teams played on even terms the rest of the way. It was 33-22 at the break. Scoring picked up for both in the third as it ended 5240.
Westlake showcased a solid man defense that stuck with the Tigers wherever they went and made them earn every shot they tried and most were taken under duress. On the other side, the Tigers played good defense but the well-oiled play of the Chaps were able to hit for crucial threes to make the difference (7-2). Even though it seemed the Tigers were in striking distance all night, they quietly kept losing ground all along the way and the Tigers just could not make a run at them.
