The Pound House Farmstead and Museum has invited families and friends of all ages to come enjoy an oldfashioned Christmas celebration this weekend at its Homespun Holiday event.
The Farmstead and Museum, established in the 1850s, is situated on five tree-covered acres in the Dripping Springs Founders Park area. Many family-friendly-Christmas activities and attractions will be held on the grounds and in the Pounds’ original home at the event on Dec. 9. These include Christmas sweets and treats, ornament making, candlemaking, live music, tours and visits with Santa. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 419-B Founders Park Road in Dripping Springs.
A real time-capsule, the farmstead house and grounds offer a living depiction of early life in the Texas Hill Country. The home is filled with family heirlooms, including Dr. Pound’s desk, medical instruments, and apothecary relics. The grounds include an oak tree estimated to be over 500 years old, known as the “The Heritage Oak”.
