Golf season well underway

The trick for the golf program is to play about half your season in the fall when the Texas weather is still warm enough to enjoy the game.

Thus far, the Dripping Springs High School golf team has mostly completed the fall part and will take up the sport in the spring to finish up. Unfortunately, Dripping Springs and the other district teams have to contend with perennial state boys champion Westlake High School and girls Lake Travis High School teams.

The boys varsity have played in two tourneys to date and the girls three. The junior varsity boys have completed their fall season and will be covered in the next issue. Jacob Gonzales has been the most consistent as he tied for 12th in the medalist race in the first tourney and tied for first but lost the playoff in the second. The boys play 36-hole tourneys and the girls 18.
