Cross country teams tackle elite meet

With one meet to go before district, the Dripping Springs High School cross country teams entered the toughest meet of the year.

With one meet to go before district, the Dripping Springs High School cross country teams entered the toughest meet of the year.

The Hoka/McNeil meet was held at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock — where the state meet is held later in the year. It was reserved for only the more elite runners around the area and state. Time was kept for all, but only the top 100 received numbered places. The girls teams placed 20th in the gold division and 19th in the Silver division. The boys placed 11th in their division.

Gold girls results: 70. Lucy Fredenburg 19.57.6; 95. Sofia Vences 20.18.7; Alexa Velasco 20.25.0; Madison Johnson 21.25.5; Mia Simons 21.26.0; Laurel Hoskovec 21.46.1; Lauren Velasco 21.55.5.

Silver girls: 50. Rebecca Nolan 21.05.3; 66. Callie Schumacher 21.28.0; 93. Emmy Ashby 21.58.6; Bella Rose 22.31.2; Ava Morales 23.12.5.
