Goats giving back with style

Introducing Goat Couture for a cause, a community-wide goat fashion show

Dripping Springs is abuzz with anticipation for the upcoming Goat Couture, the most baaa-rilliant runway show to hit Hays County.

The Law Office of Milena Christopher and LOOMC Charities, Inc. coordinated the charitable goat fashion show, set to take place at Dripping Springs Ranch Park on Sept. 9 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This year’s event aims to raise funds for the seven Future Farmers of America chapters in Blanco and Hays counties.

Goat Couture will feature a festival environment with eight goat costume categories, including Cowboy/Cowgirl, First Responders, Goats as Other Animals, Goats from Around the World, Painted Goat, Pajama Party, Prince/ Princess and West of Weird. The event will also showcase a friendly competition among Hays and Blanco County first responders, mayors and commissioners to foster camaraderie between police, fire and EMS stations — as well as civic leaders.

According to LOOMC founder and Chairman of the Board Milena Christopher, Goat Couture highlights her commitment to the local community and the organizations that contribute to its greatness.

“We established LOOMC Charities, Inc. to further support our beautiful area,” Christopher, a longtime resident and professional in the Dripping Springs area, said. “Goat Couture is our inaugural event and promises to become a highly anticipated annual tradition for both community members and tourists.”

Inspired by a similar event called “Goat My Valentine”in San Francisco, CA, where local celebrities and first responders parade goats on a stage in Union Square, Goat Couture aims to produce and support artistic, educational, charitable and spiritual events that inspire individuals to give back to their communities.

The event will feature live performances by local singersongwriter Jillian Hudson, who will also sing the national anthem. Additionally, an exhibitor area will showcase local businesses providing engaging activities for attendees of all ages. Visitors can expect a range of crafts, entertainment, shopping opportunities, food and beverages and much more throughout the day.

Goat Couture is financially supported by a number of community businesses and individuals. The Law Office of Milena Christopher takes the lead as the headline sponsor, with Cunningham Orthodontics, Tractor Supply, Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation, Blanco Veterinary Clinic, Camp David Retreat, Deep Eddy Vodka, Magnolia Realty, Sunset Canyon Veterinary Clinic and others joining forces to make Goat Couture a reality and help raise crucial funds for the FFA chapters.

General admission tickets for Goat Couture are priced at $5 each, while goat registration costs $25 per goat per category. Space for goat participation is limited. Tickets and event information can be found on the Goat Couture 2023 – A Goat Fashion Show Facebook page.

LOOMC Charities, Inc (the name derived from Law Office of Milena Christopher) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting the local community in Hays and Blanco Counties. LOOMC Charities, Inc. aims to contribute to the region's prosperity and well-being through various initiatives and events.
