Dripping Springs’ third-annual pride festival is fast approaching this weekend, offering residents the opportunity to express themselves and their support for the LGBTQ+ community.

The Pride of Dripping Springs event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 24, in recognition of June as National LGBTQ+ Pride Month and in honor of International LGBT Pride Day on June 28. Co-sponsored by the city, the festival will be hosted at the Dripping Springs Ranch Park and Event Center and includes vendors, performers and activities for all ages.

The annual event will be split into two segments, the first of which is a family-friendly festival from noon to 7 p.m. Sponsored and facilitated in part by the Springs Family YMCA, it will feature a variety of games and activities for children, teens and families, as well as vendor booths for all ages.

The second segment is designed for ages 18 and up, a part of the festival Pride of DS has labeled “Pride After Dark.” This segment will take place from 7 p.m. to midnight and will feature both drag and burlesque performers.

Both segments will have food and drinks available for purchase.

Tast year, the event saw more than 2,000 attendees throughout the day, an increase of over 500 people from its inaugural year.

“Families of all shapes, colors and sizes... came to celebrate love and equality, which was exactly what we wanted,” Pride of DS Vice President Joe Harris said of the 2022 event.

Proceeds from the event will go towards providing mental health resources and family guidance services, organizing future Pride events and distributing scholarships from Pride of DS.
