When season three of the hit TV show “Walker, Texas Ranger” called for a cake, Dripping Springs bakery Cakes ROCK!!! was there to answer — literally.

In the finale of season three, Captain Larry James remarried his former wife in a Texas-style ceremony. The Captain, as he is often referred to, is the former partner of the main character, Cordell Walker, who is played by actor Jared Padaleki. For the reception scene, the show required a three-tiered baby blue wedding cake.

The prop mistress called for two of them. One was to be real, and the other one was to be a cardboard replica of the original. She placed a call to the Rose Haven Bakery and Event Center, home of Cakes ROCK!!!, who fulfilled the request.

Cake artist Russell Murphy stepped up to the task and created the two cakes used in the scene that was filmed at Stonehouse Ranch, a Dripping Springs wedding venue.

Recently, word was received from series producer, The CW, that Walker, Texas Ranger has been green-lighted for a fourth season on CBS.

The original 1990 series starred Chuck Norris as a Texas Ranger who didn’t mind bucking authority when events called for it. The new Walker, Texas Ranger depicts contemporary Texas life and uses real locations in Austin and the Hill Country. The reboot focuses on the characters’ family dramas and contemporary social issues that mirror those faced by residents of central Texas — immigration, drugs and the conflict between progressive and conservative values.
