Scenic Texas’ For the Love of Texas bike ride returned to the Hill Country this past weekend, celebrating Earth Day with the annual event.
The scenic bike ride on Saturday, April 22 provided a free opportunity for cyclists to take a leisurely — if largely uphill — ride through the rolling landscape at their own pace. Beginning at the site of sponsor Dripping Springs Distilling, bikers followed a marked path down west US Highway 290, up Mc-Gregor Lane to Fitzhugh Road and back down Bell Springs Road. Following the 11-mile event, participants were welcome to a free lunch with the option of donations.
Fundraising proceeds went directly towards efforts to preserve Texas visual environments and promote leisure scenic bike rides for future generations.
Dripping Springs Distilling is located at 5330 Bell Springs Road in Dripping Springs.
