Once again, Dripping Springs High School proves its athletic programs have what it takes to compete in 6A — and even more so, the always tough 26-6A district that include Lake Travis and Westlake High Schools.
The latest sport to prove this was the wrestling program. What many fail to understand is that many Dripping Springs programs have long been preparing for 6A with their competitive scheduling against larger schools. The wrestling program is one of those.
Coach Joe Kirksey continued to raise the bar in the boys program this year. He was also able to start from scratch in the girls division. The boys won district, and the girls barely missed the same while the JV boys dominated their division.
