The Dripping Springs Water Supply Corporation recently dedicated one of its elevated water towers, honoring a longtime employee and Dripping Springs resident.
The water tower, located near Blue Ridge Drive and Counts Estates Drive was dedicated to recognize Joel D. Wilkinson. Wilkinson began working for DSWSC as the engineer of record in 1973, retiring in 2018 after 45 years of service to the community.
“His insight, forethought and planning engineering skills elevated the Dripping Springs Water Supply Corp to new heights that still hold true today,” said Rick Broun, administration general manager for DSWSC.
“The DSWSC Board of Directors and staff members honor and thank Mr.
Wilkinson for his dedication of work and exemplary achievements to the DSWSC and the citizens of Dripping Springs.”
The DSWSC Board of Directors recognized Mr.
Wilkinson this past July by dedicating the south elevated tower to his name.
A bronze plaque was presented to Mr. Wilkinson at the tower on Jan. 11, his 82nd birthday, to be installed permanently at the tower location.
